| We will do our best to get through this plus a bottle of nice French given to us by the rental company |
We arrived safe and sound...well maybe not sound ha! stopped for lunch in a little village called Errol,in Perthshire, and had a great meal, I had steak pie...it came with chips and peas, Rod had Lasagna he said it had mashed potato in it,Ann Marie had lentil soup and she said it was very good. We saw a sign for a winery so after a short discussion we set off a short drive mile and a half...and found Cairn O Mohr bought wine and some recommended local microbrewery beers a variety pack also short breads, and chocolate bars all made locally. We had a bit of a incident when we arrived in Edinburgh we were doing so good our Tom Tom leading us easily through the streets, until we got into Old Edinburgh somehow there was a confused moment and we ended up going the wrong way down a one way...screams from me, Ann Marie was I am sure frozen with fright, Rod calm cool and collected blinked twice braked along with all the cars coming at us, said sorry made a sharp right turn and we were on our way again...not sure if the people involved swore at us I didn't look at them Ha! we went to a car park and then for a walk, stopping to ask a man where we could find a cafe...he said just up there is the Royal Mile where there are many to choose from...imagine the Royal Mile just a short walk through the Old toll booth from our accommodation to the Royal Mile ...Tonight we are eating out for the occassion of my birthday..tomorrow Edinburgh Castle
I'm sure you missed some really good Scottish curses during the one-way street incident hahaha Anne Marie is a cutie eh, way to scare her half to death lol

ReplyDeleteWe loved your story of driving the wrong way in Old Edinburgh--Merv says "been there and done that" as we got into something similar there with him at the wheel! We didn't have a GPS in 1994.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you ate haggis on your birthday--once a year on Robbie Burns Day is enough for me!
Your pictures and stories are great--keep them coming.
haha thanks Jesse! She is much more hip chick material than me!JOX
