Another great day ...we headed to Old Leigh by train ...was quite a site as the tide was out and all the boats big and small all sitting in strange positions, dry docked waiting for the tide to come back in . it was not to busy as we walked along but by the time we turned around to head back it was packed with people everywhere, as we passed by the open air restaurants it sounded like a hive of bees very noisy! We had a great lunch of fish and chips along with our first taste of mushy peas, I liked them, we of course had a pint or two to wash it down...delicious! James and his girlfriend Beth and her twin sister joined us, they are really sweet young people...We missed having the ever funny Sam with us (he spent the day at a friends) There are some very nice homes along the way , there were many people walking in the mud left as the tide went out, cute little white dogs with blackened feet Ha! We walked as far as the ice cream vendor's had dessert and then headed back. On the drive home we stopped at the Old Dog Pub...over 500 years old ..it was so interesting inside kind of like being in a museum ...we had a brew and then headed home. Had a great BBQ in the back yard ...Sam was in charge of the grill Lamb Chops, Lamb Burgers, beef burgers and sausage we ate it all, with some steamed Potatoes ( red wine of course) and we introduced everyone to Smores...with the British Twist, We used Morning Coffee Biscuits, and Cream Wafers instead of Graham Crackers, pink marshmallows, dark chocolate bar, whipped cream oh! My very tasty indeed. Alan had a explosive way of opening a special bottle of Fizzy Australian wine ...we were all in shock and Alan all covered in red, he was lucky he didn't put his eye out with the cork. The Wine was delicious!!!!! Many thanks for another great day.
