Lets see where to start, I have been wanting to get caught up on my blog, but am so exhausted at the end of the day. It is a bright beautiful Sunday Morning, we slept in until 7 this morning and it is going to be another day full of Sunshine. Back to Friday I forgot to say after we finished our walk to Buckingham Palace we got on a double Decker open topped tour bus and rode around twice gawking at everything, we passed by a play "Passion Play" in Trafalgar Square ...they were just raising " Jesus" up on the cross Trish and I were both saying we wished we had know it was on we would have watched the whole play. We saw St. Peters, The house of Parliament, Westminster Abby ( where our good friends Will and Kate will soon be married ) :) :) we went across the Tower Bridge it is quite a site to see, funny story about the American Man who bought the old London Bridge for a million pounds in 1973 and moved it brick by brick to Lake Hauvasu,Arizona thinking he ha bought the Tower Bridge but really had only bought the London Regular bridge ah! well it was a great feat anyway. The views from the Eye of London really are something else even with the bit of smog it was really beautiful to look down the River Thames and see all the ships and cruise boats going up and down ...the architecture of the buildings is amazing. On Saturday we got up early, leaving the house at 6:30am and drove for over a hour to board La Shuttle to go through the Channel Tunnel to Calais, France that is really something you just drive on one behind the other park and in 20 minutes you are accross...First stop was for a freshly made cup of delicious French coffee and pastries ...then shopping!! that was fun prices very good. We loaded up the car ( did I say we are being chauffeured in a Mercedes by the fantastic Alan :) love that car very comfy indeed) with all our food we bought at Tesco huge store that has everything one stop including alcohol ...and headed to Calais Beach there were quiet a lot of people out for the day...lots of nice sand and the waves coming in, the Ferry Boats going back and forth, we ate heartily fresh bread, cheese , pickled tomatoes, carrot and celery root salad, cured pepper sausage, ham all washed down with Red wine and dessert tarts mmmmmm! Trish, Sam and I then walked along the shore and picked a few rocks and shells...then back to wake up Rod and Alan who we left sleeping on the beach. We then drove along the coast stopping at a regional park where there were bunkers from the war, we could not access., we did take a lovely walk along a path that seemed to go on forever stopping to take some pictures along the way. We then drove on to Wimereux a small village where we stopped for beer and a coke for Mr.Sam :) at a small outdoor cafe it was very busy and the man was quite slow but it was worth it to have the cold beer :) .Then back to la Shuttle for our trip back to England stopping at the boarder check stop, where we were asked if we had any animals, Sam says quietly so only we could hear " Yeh! we have a Circus in the back with 400 monkeys" he is so darn funny. We arrived home around 7pm and ate the rest of the cheese, meat, Chinese take away we had bought in the mall , some carrot sticks for good measure and of course more Red wine to wash it all down. Slept like a baby again......
